Free Menstrual Products at University: a necessity, not a luxury

60 Distributors Installed in Politecnico Campuses!🩸

Starting in the first week of October, thanks to the efforts of the Student Council and the Single Guarantee Committee, 60 free, recyclable sanitary product dispensers have been installed in all university campus bathrooms. This initiative is an important step forward in raising awareness around menstrual product accessibility and gender equality.

Monitoring and Future of Dispensers🏩

The initial phase will last three months to assess dispenser usage. Positive results will lead to making them a permanent feature, ensuring ongoing access to essential products for everyone’s well-being.

Beyond Pads: A Matter of Social Justice💸

This is more than just distributing pads! The initiative also addresses the unfair taxation on menstrual products, currently taxed at the standard 22% rate as they’re not classified as essential. The goal is to assert that menstrual products are necessities, not luxuries.

A Necessary Guarantee👫

The menstrual cycle represents a significant economic burden for many young women. The Student Council and CUG are committed to ensuring access to these essential products, advancing equality on our campus.
